Henniges Automotive North Carolina, Inc., in Reidsville, North Carolina, seeks an Extrusion Engineer. 10% travel, both domestic and international. Duties: Design, develop and execute extrusion processes, tooling, machinery, and production protocols; perform continuous operation of plant extrusion lines and equipment, improve extrusion productivity and reduce scrap, and review extrusion process for continuous improvement and feasibility; update product mylar’s and Extrusion Process Specification Sheet (EPSS), coordinate engineering releases and changes relative to setting standards, sample submission, data entry and perform follow-up; coordinate extrusion die trials; assist in leading projects or project teams, and lead lean manufacturing events by utilizing established problem-solving guidelines, identify areas for continuous improvement, and troubleshoot extrusion process issues to solution; and provide guidance and technical direction to less experienced engineering and technical staff. Minimum education required: Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering, or closely related field of study or equivalent foreign degree. Minimum experience required: 3 years of work experience as an extrusion engineer or in a related role developing and evaluating the extrusion process in the automotive sealing manufacturing industry. Must have 3 years of work experience with each of the following: designing, machining, and developing extrusion dies for EPDM, TPV and building product process; designing and developing sizing tank tooling to achieve proper dimensions of profile to meet customer critical requirements; setting up and calibrating weigh scale blender to establish proper mix percentage of raw material and regrind; organizing layout of TPV extrusion line to meet profile requirements; tuning roll forming equipment, required for extrusion process to achieve a profile that meets 10X requirements; defining proper profile water circulation through calibration tooling to achieve correct cooling and water extraction from the process to maintain correct size and shape of profile per customer drawing requirements.
